Ashdown is the sort of bear who looks like he’s been caught mid‑adventure — probably somewhere he wasn’t supposed to be. At 36cm, he’s a fluffy tumble of white, beige, and soft brown plush, the exact colours of a bear who has been rolling in autumn leaves and pretending it was an accident.
His expression is pure “I didn’t knock over that mushroom… but if I did, it was definitely the wind.” His sculpted paw pads are perfect for tip‑toeing through imaginary forests, and his fur has that slightly tousled look of someone who has been out exploring since sunrise.
Around his neck sits a chequered bow, tied neatly enough to suggest he tried to look respectable, but not so neatly that it hides his mischievous streak. Designed by Isabelle Lee with finishing touches from Charlotte Morris, Ashdown is fully jointed and fully convinced he’s the unofficial mayor of the forest floor.
Part of the 2024 Forest mini series, Ashdown brings the crunch of leaves, the smell of moss, and the charm of a bear who always has a story to tell — even if half of it is made up on the spot.
